All dressed up in lace with places to go. You wouldn’t typically catch me in a dressy outfit like this one, unless there’s some sort of special occasion. It was a Saturday like any others, but this one was warm and I had brunch and coffee plans with a few bloggers. Anytime we get together, you can imagine the amount of photos that are taken so I found the perfect excuse to get dressed up in this lace top and these wide pleated pants. Over the last couple of years, I've been able to play dress-up in all sorts of trends and experiment with a broad range of looks. I would say that I have only been able to nail down my style three years ago. At Fashion Week, I found myself oohing and ahh-ing over feminine pieces with lace, tulle, pleats and luxe fabrics. What I realized is that I feel the most comfortable in more reserved and ladylike pieces. I'm sure that my style will continue to evolve over the next few years, but pretty sure it will still involve lace.
It took a good 20-minutes before we were able to find a location for my outfit, until we stumbled upon this gem in Dundas West. As crazy as it sounds, location is key for photographers, bloggers and creative storytellers of any sort because it makes the biggest difference in capturing their personality. I love simple elegance, but also have a love and appreciation for beautiful architecture. This photo would have looked completely different if I had shot this against a white brick wall or even on the street. I was going for a very feminine, parisian look so the backdrop was very fitting. I always have a hard time finding locations like these in Toronto, but when I do, I add it to my list so I can go back again in the future!
