What’s perfect about this skirt is that it can be styled with almost everything and suitable for every season — as evident in 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 of my previous outfit posts. It drapes elegantly and the side slits elongates your legs. This time, I paired it with a velvet camisole and leather jacket. I’ve always been hesitant wearing velvet in the summer because it looks heavy and warm. That is until I came across this one by Sashion. It’s extremely lightweight and the delicate lace actually helps make it appear lighter. Two tips on wearing velvet is to size up so that it’s a looser fit and to choose something with less fabric, such as a camisole.
As some of you may have heard, it’s true — Toronto Fashion Week is no longer. It’s unfortunate and quite disappointing for the Toronto bloggers, editors, photographers and fashionistas who would attend the shows twice a year to see both new and renowned Canadian designers and their pieces down the runway. For me, Toronto Fashion Week definitely made a huge impact and brought me closer to other bloggers and given me more exposure in the fashion industry. There’s a lot of talent and potential for fashion in this city so hopefully there will be a way for more shows in the future!
