When I pulled this lace piece from the Sashion showroom, I knew exactly how I would style it. The dress is very elegant and feminine, but also exudes a slight vintage romanticism. This isn’t your typical lace-dress, but one that’s unique in its own way — the lace embroidery is beautifully large in scale and the dress itself is more sheer, allowing you to wear something underneath. I wanted to add a touch of modern to the outfit so I incorporated an edgy component with leather. I’m typically drawn to darker shades, like black, when it comes to lace, but this white one is a summer essential. For warmer days, you can opt for a pair of shorts, skirt or even a thin slip dress to layer underneath instead.
If I could pick one place to wear this dress, it would be in France. There’s something so Parisian about this lace dress — I can imagine sitting outside of a french cafe with my bicycle (basket filled with baguette and flowers) parked on the side. One can only dream, but there’s always Colette if you want that dream to feel closer.
