My Chef's Plate Experience

I love eating, but can’t say the same about cooking because of all the prep work that is involved. Enter Chef’s Plate. It is a convenient meal delivery service that ships the perfect amount of fresh ingredients and delicious recipes right to your doorstep — so that you can be the chef, without the hassle.

Thanks to Chef’s Plate, I was able to rediscover the fun in cooking again this past weekend with Terrance. We ordered the Sweet Soy Glazed Salmon and Seared Steak because salmon and steak are both our favourites. Our package arrived in an insulated cardboard box on Thursday afternoon and when I opened it up, it was still cold and fresh. Since we weren’t cooking the meals until the Saturday, we had stored the perishable items in the refrigerator and kept everything else on the counter. Both meals had a medium difficulty level and 25-30 minutes of prep time required, but it didn’t seem intimidating at all since everything was labeled and ready to use. I made the salmon, while Terrance took on the steak.

The dishes were fairly simple to put together, but still required some minor prep work, such as washing the vegetables and cutting them up. It took about half an hour to prepare and plate the entire meal and 5-minutes to eat it. It was absolutely delicious and I couldn’t believe that it was something that we made. What we loved about our experience were: the ease of cooking, the serving size (one meal can feed two people!), and the portions were measured perfectly so there was no waste.
