I call this post the Modern Audrey because my outfit was inspired by a more modern-day version of what Audrey Hepburn would wear (and do). A turtleneck to keep it Audrey, but a pair of distressed cuffed-up denim instead of black tights, lace-up flats instead of ballerinas and loose curls instead of hair up in a bun. You will also probably find Audrey having breakfast at Tiffany’s versus ice cream sammies at The Red Bench.
This was a little hideaway spot before the snow and wind hit Toronto over the weekend. Instead of trying to stay warm, we did the total opposite and opted for ice cream sammies instead. I was pleasantly surprised by how odd, yet charming this cookie shop was. The ceilings were breathtakingly beautiful and the walls were adorned with black & white photos. There was also a worn out red bench sitting outside to compliment the name of the shop. It’s a hybrid of a cookie shop, tea café and self-serve frozen yogurt station. I ordered the Nutterdam cookie (basically Nutella inside a peanut butter cookie) with vanilla ice cream and toffee pieces. It was so different from Bang Bang, but just as delicious!
