2016 – New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed a memorable NYE celebration and a wonderful fresh start to 2016. Terrance and I rang in the new year with our loved ones with a small celebration at our place. It was a night to remember with a lot of sangria, wine, bread and cheese (and us screaming at the top of our lungs over Heads Up!).

I spent my holiday long weekend catching up on some much needed rest & relaxation and just stayed in for the most part. I had some time to also reflect on my past year and think about this year’s resolutions. I’m not big on resolutions, but there are a few things that I would love to be better at this year:

Practice Hot Yoga At Least 3 Times/Week
I love hot yoga because it not only allows me to sweat out my toxins, but also puts my mind and body at complete ease. I’ve really learned to embrace the warmth in the room and to let go of any tension or stress. I tend to go only when there’s a 1-month unlimited and forget all about it afterwards, but I just signed up for a monthly membership with unlimited classes per month so now I have no excuse!

Read 5 Books Before The End Of The Year
I’ve never been a bookworm, but I do appreciate a good book that is either humorous–China Rich Girlfriend or suspenseful– Gone Girl. I also enjoy reading about people– one of my favourites being Love Style Life where Garance Doré shares her story on the three topics. I am currently reading Drew Barrymore's Wildflower and it has been very inspiring so far. If you have any good book recommendations, please suggest them below!

Eat Clean During The Workweek
I'm quite awful at this because I love food, especially ones that are loaded with carbs (anyone else love bread and pasta?). I want to make it a habit to eat healthier throughout the workweek and allow myself to indulge only on weekends. It seems a little bit more realistic and I know that it will do my body good.

Stay Hydrated Every Single Day
Wellness starts with water and it's so important to drink enough of it throughout the day. I used to hate drinking water, but ever since I downloaded the Plant Nanny water reminder app, it has done wonders for me (and my virtual plants!). I hope I can squeeze at least 6-8 cups of water each day this year. If you dislike the natural taste of water, try adding a slice of lemon!

Wish me luck! x
