Maison Christian Faure
Quite possibly the most beautiful cafe situated in a historic building in Old Montreal. The place is welcoming with big plant-filled cement steps and cute wooden doors. It was very bright and spacious when we stepped inside— there was a kind of old charm to the place with all sorts of decor, but I loved the large windows and decorative ceiling.
Montreal Travel Diary
It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this chic patisserie. As soon as I walked in, it felt as if I had stepped into Paris. The café had French moulding and a colourful mural along one side of the walls and exposed brick on the other. I felt right at home with the nature sunlight gleaming through the windows and ghost chairs strewn throughout the restaurant.
Weekend in Montreal
Even though we were only in Montreal for 3 short days, it was enough for me to fall in love with this city all over again. I’ve visited a handful of times, but each visit fell into the winter season. It was beautiful in the winter time, but experiencing Montreal in the summer was definitely something else.
The roadtrip to Montreal this past weekend was just what the doctor ordered. We listened to the Serial podcast on our way there and back, which kept our minds off work and made the 5-hour long ride much more bearable. We traveled there with a very short itinerary which sometimes is an amazing thing for someone who has Type A personality and desire to make plans down to the minute. What we did have in our itinerary were Bota Bota, Old Montreal and their infamous poutine.
