If there’s one thing that adulthood taught me, it’s that I should be more smart with my shopping. It’s great to purchase fast fashion and to stay atop of the trends, but I always find that these are pieces that I wear no more than a handful of times. I mentioned in my last post that one of my goals this year is to shop for items that can double as weekend wear, and to invest in quality pieces.

I picked out these quality wide-legged Vince trousers that are ideal for work, but can also be worn in the evening or weekends to special occasions. I wore them to the Shangri-La for a Sunday tea date. I styled them with a simple fitted turtleneck and a pair of suede ankle boots, but they can also go nicely with a tailored jacket for a modern take on a suit. If you prefer something more comfortable and relaxed look, throw over an oversized knitted sweater or an oversized button down shirt. The wide-leg silhouette is naturally flattering so they elongate the legs without much effort on your part. They can be a little bit intimidating at first, so trying on culottes or wide-leg jeans can ease the transition (which is exactly what I did!).
