Looking back on 2018 and reflecting on the last twelve months, it was likely one of the best years I’ve had. I had the chance to rekindle my love for two of my favourite cities—New York and LA, and explore new places that I’ve only daydreamed about. I wandered the streets of Paris with my love and experienced what it was like to live like a Parisienne. Then travelled down to the French Riviera and immersed myself in a place filled with so much history, art and culture. But what made the year truly amazing for me was visiting Italy. It holds such a special place in my heart because apart from all of its beauty, this is the place where I said yes to Terrance.

And now, I’m welcoming 2019 with open arms. There may be less travels planned for the year as we save for our destination wedding, but I’m sure staying in our beautiful country and city will be just as nice. When it comes to new years resolutions, I don’t come up with strict goals but I do plan things loosely so I know what to focus on. I’m sure the Marie Kondo effect has played a role in this, but I do want to focus on having less this year. For my personal style, I want to specifically buy less trendy items and:

  1. Invest in quality pieces from brands such as GANNI and 3.1 Phillip Lim.

  2. Only shop workwear that can double as weekend wear from brands such as Tibi, Theory, and Vince.

  3. Stay true to my romantic and feminine aesthetic and invest in pieces from brands like Ulla Johnson and Self-Portrait.

I’ve started off my year by reaching for beloved pieces that I’ve owned for seasons and this includes blazers, midi skirts and boots. I can truly say that these are classic must-have pieces that I can style over and over again in hundreds of ways.
