Modern Minimalist

Now that winter is officially underway, I’ve been on a lookout for pieces that are practical for the temperature change without compromising my personal style. Investing in timeless and transitional pieces is the general rule that I follow to achieve this. I’ve been taking a minimalistic approach to style—few pieces with larger impact because less is more, right?

My sweater collection has grown over these years, but the one piece that I lacked in my wardrobe was a cable knit sweater. Until now. It’s a fresh twist on a classic crew-neck sweater, but slightly oversized and very on-trend with everything that I have seen this season. It’s a no-fuss, throw-it-over-and-go piece which is perfect for the winter months.

With cooler temperatures comes the need for longer length bottoms, such as heavier midi skirts, and it just happens that the best things come when you least expect them to. I stumbled upon this cotton skirt with an a-line silhouette during Black Friday. Made of 100% cotton, the material is heavier and more likely to stand days that are below zero degrees celsius. A slouchy pair of boots would’ve been perfect with this outfit, but these above-ankle suede boots are a great alternative.
