5 Skincare Products

When it comes to beauty and make-up, I can’t say that I’m very well-versed in this field. However, I do know what works for my skin and what doesn’t and that can only be learned through trial and error. After using these for a few years, I can now call these my 5 most loved skincare products:

Eau Thermale Avène Cleanance EXPERT
This moisturizer is great for those with oily- and blemish-prone skin. It is a lightweight formula that is enriched with Avène Thermal Spring Water so it soothes and softens the skin. I use it immediately following my Proactiv cleanser and toner treatment, but can also be used alone. After discovering this product, I replaced my Proactiv lotion completely. I found that the Proactiv lotion was actually drying out my skin and causing flakiness around my cheeks. I love that this product hydrates the skin, but also helps reduce the visibility of any redness or blemishes.

Korean Sheet Masks
I definitely don’t use these enough, but when I do I love the way it leaves my skin feeling luminous and dewy. I rarely ever go to get a facial so these are great substitutes. I used to watch my mom apply sheet masks to her skin and found it strange that she wouldn't wash her face after removing the mask. Now, after having used them I realize the importance of leaving your skin to absorb all of the essence and letting it lock into your skin.

This is the one product that I swear by. Whether it is for dry skin or chapped lips, it is your savior for anything that requires instant moisture and seal. I use this religiously every single morning and night on my lips and occasionally on my heels. It also serves many other purposes – use it as a perfume primer so your fragrance holds better and lasts longer, a highlighter for your cheekbones, or even to achieve the perfect manicure (just apply to your cuticles before polishing).

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
With the winter season ahead, I know that I will be relying on this lotion much more. This hand cream with shea butter helps protect, nourish and soften my hands throughout the day. I keep a tube at my workstation and apply 2-3 times a day. Don’t forget to pick up a magic key so that you get every last bit out of the tube!

Smith's Rosebud Salve Lip Balm
This is my miracle balm that I carry with me everywhere I go. I start my mornings and end my nights with Vaseline, but this is the product that I take with me when I am on the go or keep with me when I'm at the office. I love the slight hint of rose scent which makes me want to keep applying this over and over again.
