Amethyst may not be my birth stone (opal is, but I still haven't been able to distinguish its true colour), but the precious colour coupled by its incredible claimed healing abilities has captured my attention. After many months of obsession, I still haven't quite gotten over the peplum trend. As most of you may know, I'm not very adventurous when it comes to my wardrobe and bright colours for me is a huge transition - this new pink peplum cami, however, is the perfect addition to welcome in the coming summer months and another great attempt at being more experimental. I was even more ecstatic when I noticed the layers of ruffles at the end, which makes it even more feminine!

The weather has been beautiful the past week so I'm excited to get together with a few girls tomorrow to enjoy a nice picnic under the sun - let's hope the weather stays the same from here on out!

The weather has surprised us all once again after a chilly and cool week and thankfully we will be able to enjoy a beautiful, sun-filled long weekend. I started my first week of work as a Marketing Coordinator on Monday so I have been kept busy all week long – expect many more of these to come! I am still getting used to waking up bright and early to take the train down, but I’ve been enjoying the long subway rides where I can squeeze in some leisure reading.

The girls have planned a trip up to the Falls tomorrow for an event called Food Truck Eats hosted by Peller Estates where 16 food trucks and wineries come together from both Canada and the U.S. The anticipation begins for a lot of mouthwatering street food, wonderful company and wine! Tonight, we will be spending the night dining at Spoon & Fork to celebrate our girlfriend’s 22nd birthday. I can’t wait to stuff myself since it will be AYCE.

Something new: peachy nude

After months of consideration, I finally gave in and purchased this soft, beautiful unstructured jacket from Topshop. The colour and draping is both refreshing and very flattering. I will have a complete outfit post up eventually, but I just wanted to give you a little preview of this darling addition.

Spring maxi

For those lazy spring and summer days, a basic jersey maxi dress is the perfect piece to turn to. I added some excitement to this otherwise simple maxi by cinching the waist with a statement belt. This afternoon made me realize how essential it is to have a basic maxi dress in your closet. Although it may be a bit tricky to maneuver in because of the length, I find extreme comfort in wearing something that is made of a cotton-blend. This attire was completely appropriate for my afternoon tea date today with my best friend at MoRoCo Chocolat.

P.S. I had my wisdom teeth removed last Friday so you may notice some swelling in my cheeks :(

Dream in cream

After my first maxi dress purchase here, I’ve grown a liking towards maxi dresses, which explains why I have recently picked up two basic jersey maxi dresses from H&M and have chosen to review this particular product from Sugarlips. A maxi dress is a summer essential and the perfect piece to wear to the beach or out for brunch on the patio. Asides from being particularly attracted to the cream colour of this dress, I also adore the horizontal rows of net detailing and the low-cut neck.
