Wilfred silk ruffle blouse, Wilfred lace bra, F21 skirt and shoes, Chloe clutch

This morning I woke up to a brightly lit room and felt softened and at ease just knowing that it’s going to be another wonderful day without work. It was surprisingly warm considering that we’re in the middle of Winter. I would have mistaken the season for Spring if the tiny heaps of snow were not present and if there was a bit more sunshine.

I’m glad to bid farewell to 2010, although you’ve been exceptionally good to me, and I would like to give a light toast to the new year. I’m in awe to see how quickly the year has flown by, but I am looking forward for exciting new things to spur in 2011. Wishing everyone a safe, carefree New Years Eve with lots of smiles and champagne and best of luck to everyone in the new year!

Yesterday, the girls and I gathered together last minute for a belated Christmas dinner and called forth the long needed girl talk. The night consisted of priceless laughs (which goes well along with inappropriate comments), delicious food, white wine, secret Santa gift exchanges, and board games. More or less sick of seeing food after binging on homemade guacamole, quesadillas, pasta, mash, smoked salmon rolls, Dulce de Leche peanut butter cookies, and a strawberry meringue cake all in one night. I’ve never been more blessed to have such a closely knit group of girls where I can just freely speak without first putting my words in thought. Definitely not a night I expected to have turned out so well since it was pretty last minute, but we did a pretty decent job at preparing all the food within a little over two hours.

The Dulce de Leche peanut butter cookies that I have been tempted to bake for months now has finally been successfully completed. I didn’t think it would turn out too fine and dandy, considering the ultimate cake failure my mom and I encountered the night of Christmas. Long story short, we over-baked the cake (with sparks of flame streaming out of the oven and everything – it was epic) and Santa left us with a black cake.

The recipe for the cookies was snagged from here. Enjoy!

Asos blouse, H&M pants, faux fur tippet and bracelets, Zara flats, Mango bag

Overdue outfit photos from a few days ago. Totally in love with this new Asos military blouse. Love how it gives off a clean, simple look with the bow detailing (that you can't see with my tippet covering over top) and silky cream fabric. Finally adding in some colour to my outfits after having worn shades of grey over the past couple of weeks. In case you’re wondering, I have been wearing flats on a regular basis and I am aware that it’s the winter season so I should be bundling up. After my first 9 hour shift at work in my MK riding boots, I came home with blisters on my feet and now it’s essentially impossible for me to step out of the house in a pair of boots without aching. I do carry around a pair of socks with me as a just-in-case though!

Last photo is taken of the Links of London bracelet I received from TL as my Christmas gift. I especially love the card that he gave me because he actually managed to fill up the entire left side with words this time haha.

I can confidentially say that Christmas has become my favourite holiday of the year. Now I’m going to sit down to an old 2003 holiday romance film and indulge in the huge box of Lindor chocolate my mom gave me bahaha.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas morning! Sadly, there's not much holiday spirit in my family so you won't even spot the presence of a Christmas tree or lights stringing around in my home. Well, we do have those odd ornaments that my dad decided to hang on our .. plant. At least we're having sparkling wine tonight with some grilled salmon and fruit salad.

Last night, myself along with a group of friends celebrated Christmas Eve with a 20lbs turkey dinner followed by a lovely gift exchange and a long game of Cranium. Let’s just say that I have become a huge fan of board games and Cranium is now on top with Taboo following after. With an amazing team with limitless abilities, we winded up as the winners hehe. We love the Creative Cat. Oh and yes, somehow we all made our appearance in black or white ensembles. I guess none of us happened to have considered the array of colours we could have chose from to be a little more festive on Christmas. Overall, the night was an unforgettable one despite the atrocious wait for dinner and our last minute Christmas playlist streamed off of YouTube.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone! <3

H&M basic, faux fur tippet

Just me standing in the freezing cold for the sake of some photos with my new faux fur tippet. The photos are blurry and dull, especially with the lack of colour in my outfit. I wish Spring was here already!

Finally back in Toronto and I can't be more glad to say that I'm finally done with term 1 exams. Hopefully I'll be able to make my way out to a nearby theater tonight for Black Swan with a few girls. I've been waiting on that movie since forever. I must confess, I have a huge girl crush on Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman. Two beautiful, beautiful people.

In less than two weeks, it will be a start of a new year. The year swung by in such a short amount of time. I can't even remember half of the things that I have accomplished this year because I never seem to keep note of it. I try to avoid setting any goals for the new year just so I won't feel the slightest bit of regret in any case where I won't be able to accomplish them by the end. I'm thankful for all the people I have met within the span of this year and the ones who remained close to me. With that said, I also want to thank you to those who supported me through reading my blog and for leaving me with kindhearted thoughts and comments!

Talula cardigan, Talula Babaton wool coat, H&M pants, French Connection necklace, Chloe Clutch, Michael Kors riding boots

Attempting to squeeze in a short post at the library before diving into the swamp of notes in front of me. The city had its first snow fall last night so I had to run outside for a few photos in the freezing cold. It's so comforting to wake up to a bright and snowy morning.

On Saturday evening, my housemates and I went to the Bean Bar to celebrate one of our housemate’s early birthday. It was the closest (decent) restaurant by campus so we went for the sake of convenience. The restaurant gives off a warm, cozy ambience with the dusty brown walls, large embroidered mirrors, rouge drapes, dimmed lights and silver disc chandelier décor. I had the Chicky Tom wrap with sundried tomatoes, grilled chicken, and brie and a side of sweet potato fries which were overly salty and peppery. Although the yam fries were disgusting, the Toblerone mousse cake made up for it with its rich chocolate taste and lightly whipped cream.

Now I’m going to plug myself into some Boyce Avenue and study for my last two finals. Hope exams are going well for everyone!
