Altered this dress a little for a more asymmetrical look.

Spending the rest of the afternoon with a few girlies I grew up with to celebrate our second annual garden party. I'm looking forward to hundreds of photos in the backyard, along with little girl talks to catch up on what's left of our previous discussions before summer's end. White sangrias filled with lots and lots of fruits to cool ourselves down while dancing in the sun (hopefully).

Went boat fishing with a few friends today at a lake in Hastings. I was kind of torn on the entire idea since I get slightly sea sick when I’m near water. To make matters worse, I can’t even swim nor fish so I felt extremely troubled.

For my first time, I have to admit that I loved it though, despite having to touch the awful slippery and slimy baits. I managed to catch four decent sized bass so I deserve a pat on the back. Definitely inviting myself out along with them to the nearby lakes the next time they go fishing.

P.S. Yes, I do realize that I’m wearing an inappropriate outfit for a morning, afternoon, and evening out to fish, but I have learned my lesson.

Feeling slightly uninspired lately which is why I'm constantly resorting to this floral blouse. I promise I'll pick up a few new pieces soon.

I also picked up two new lip balms the other day. Since I couldn’t decide between the two, I had no other choice but to buy both. So far, I’ve only tried the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream and I’m surprised at how long it actually lasts. I’m slowly growing fond of the smell, but I’m honestly less about the smell and more for how much it works. It moisturizes and softens my lips for a long lasting period. Oh, it also adds a hint of gloss to your lips, which I love most. I have yet to try the Bobbi Brown lip balm with SPF 15 since the sun has lost itself, but when I do I’ll let you guys know how it goes.

Milestone's for the Girls Night Out special on Monday's and then CNE possibly? Seriously need to try the deep fried butter that everyone has been talking about. Sounds awful, but we'll see.

When the clouds are gone not a shadow in sight

A few photos from the other night sitting sky high on the rooftop patio of Joey’s with Jess and Michelle. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese with a side of sweet potato fries, while Jess had the baja fish tacos and Michelle had the hi-rise mushroom cheddar burger. The sunset was lovely to witness. Watched the well-lighted sky darken as what was left of the sun spread across the clouds for its last time before it was swallowed up by the night.

I’ve been spending the last week waking up early in the morning for hot yoga or work, which explains my absence from blogging and replies to all your lovely comments.

Oh, forgot to mention about the drinks. Mich and I had the pomegranate mojito and Jess had the mint mojito.

P.S. it was lovely meeting you Jess (officially this time haha)!

Beautiful things can come from the dark

I’ve been lusting for a piece that is silky, light, and sheer ever since coming across Miu Miu’s Spring RTW 2010 collection. The most graceful feature would probably be the sheer sleeves on a light mesh fabric with embellishments around the neckline. Instead of a crystal embroidered sheer dress, this dress adds a twist of colourful beautification on a dark, rather than nude piece. If only I had known earlier that this dress came in white as well.

Terrance and I had dinner at Guu last evening on their patio, which was honestly a better choice than the dining room since we were able to take in the summer breeze. Tried their berry sake red sangria, which was good for the most part, but it lacked some simple syrup. Slightly satisfied with my recent Guu cravings, but I’m still waiting to try the rest of the items on their menu.

After dinner, we drove over to the docks when the night sky was setting in to catch a late night movie at their drive-in. We watched “The Other Guys”, which was a decent action-comedy film, but I think I would have rather settled for “Dinner for Shmucks”. I found myself diverting from the screen and instead to the sky to catch the stars for the most part. We managed to catch a glimpse of a shooting star (well, two for him), which was probably from the remainders of the meteor shower that appeared the night before.

Finally, a post after waiting out for the sun the past few days so I can squeeze in some outfit shots. The highlight of last week consisted of baking banana chocolate cupcakes with one of my close girlfriends before she leaves for Hong Kong, Taste of Danforth with some other girlfriends followed by bubble tea at Destiny, and Wonderland with Terrance and his two buddies.

Left the rest of the afternoon to a pleasant gathering with two of my friends at Starbucks, either taking in our daily doses of caffeine or suppressing our thirst with a Passion iced tea lemonade. Although our conversation fell short, we still managed to fill each other in with the usual girl talk.

Le Fou by Wilfred 2010

As much as I admire the spring/summer collections, it feels like they’ve been out for awhile now. I’m anticipating the cozy, chunky knits and adorable LBD’s from the Aritzia F/W 2010 Fashion Show. After reviewing the shows on Youtube for their TNA, Talula, Talula Babaton, and Wilfred line, I was blown away and excited for fall to come. Oh, and because they’re such sweethearts, they posted the lookbook for Talula, Talula Babaton, and Wilfred just in time for my viewing pleasures. Thank god silks are still in for fall. I can’t help but become attached to the lovely soft material. The Wilfred and Le Fou by Wilfred fall/winter collection would probably be my favourite with the warm coloured trousers, striped knits, camel coloured coat dazzling ombre slip, silk skirts and tops, and wool cardigans. I’m still crazy for this the most. It’s from their TNA line. Love the knitted pattern and the colour!

I can’t get over how exquisite this Chloe Elvire clutch looks. The perfect colour covering a delicate patent material. I'm also adoring the necklace that I picked out from Saks Fifth Avenue when I was in New York. The smooth stone embroidered chain necklace adds elegance to any outfit.

Likely going to be spending another rainy afternoon at Chapters/Starbucks with Terrance. Hoping to pick up a few good reads to keep myself busy for the rest of summer.

Forgot to mention how bummed out I am about the Northern lights that I missed last night. It was supposedly a coronal mass ejection of energy which burst out of the sun and pointed directly towards Earth. A view of the beautiful, glistening lights would have been amazing. Waited all night for the lights that never appeared.. until the morning of when the skies lit up. I should have known not to fall asleep.
