New bed covers from Ikea and Zara loafers. Also tried pistachio gelato for the first time last week. Melted in the sun the second I came out of the store, but nonetheless, delicious and had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. A weekend ahead to be spent at the beach and at a dainty restaurant called Bodega. It's a bummer that I will be spending Canada Day at work while others are out awaiting fireworks at the beach.

You will need:
A pair of scissors
A dress shirt (the collar)
A printer
Iron transfer on sheets
An iron
A pillowcase
1. Cut out a collar from a dress shirt (preferably, one that has been used and that you don’t mind cutting up).
2. Pick a template. You can use: this or this. You can either add colour to it using photoshop or leave it as it is if you are printing it onto a dark coloured collar. When finished, print out the template on an iron transfer on sheet (usually best if you test it a few times before hand using the normal 8x11 blank paper in order to find the perfect size).
3. Cut the print out.
4. Check for fit.
5. Position your transfer image face down on the collar.
6. Lay your collar on a pillowcase on a firm, hard surface.
7. Iron the print onto the collar using firm pressure for about 15-20 seconds.
8. When the collar is cool, gently peel the paper from the back.
I love this easy Miu Miu DIY. The collar works as an accessory piece and you can pair it with almost anything. Of course, it would be slightly harder for me since I decided on changing the colour of my sparrows to pink. Well, I am hoping to make the cat collar eventually. It was my initial plan, but I decided against it since everyone has been doing a DIY on the cat print. Haha, I originally called the bird prints “swallows” until I realized the template I used were actually “sparrows”. Either way, they both have wings so it doesn’t really matter.
I swear I have been living off of the same few pieces: lace top, lace bralette, trousers, bustiers, trouser shorts, and leggings. I apologize for the lack of freshness in my outfits. I’m pretty sure many of you have witnessed the same items thrown around in multiple posts of mine. When I love a piece, I wear it until it tears so bare with me!
I feel as though I’ve been posting quite a bit lately. My beloved blog, I love you too much. Either that or I just have to fill in my spare time in the afternoon before leaving for work.

Hoping to see more of this lovely weather for the next two months and that the drizzles will go elsewhere. Spent a lovely afternoon at my friend's place two days ago indulging in some banana cupcakes with peanut butter frosting. Probably the best tasting cupcakes I've ever had. Oh, and I finally met Billy, the cute bichon. He does the craziest and cutest things, which makes me want to take him home with me.
Finally made reservations for Summerlicious 2010. Decided on two restaurants which I've heard great reviews on: Auberge du Pommier and Bier Markt. I'm excited as this is my first time experiencing Summerlicious. The thought of the food, atmosphere and beautiful weather captivates me most. I would also like to mention that I've completed my first Miu Miu DIY and will be posting it when I get the chance to do so. I'm headed out to the mall now since there seems to be a gazillion sales going on. I hope all of you are enjoying the start of summer.
Spring farewell

Lets all bid farewell to the last day of spring. I’ve long waited for summer to come and now that it’s here, I finally feel as if I can embrace the long summer break without a single thought of school (well, at least for the next two months).
Here are some shots I snapped with my new 50mm f/1.8 II lens before my AF failed me and now it’s being shipped back to Canon for 4-6 weeks of repairs. It pretty much defeats the purpose of purchasing a new lens for the summer when it’s going to be in the hands of a repairman for the next month. I can’t even exchange or return the lens since they are clueless of the cause. So much for “love it or leave it” within 15 days of purchase.
On a lighter note, Terrance and I celebrated our one year anniversary yesterday to make up for our actual anniversary (last Tuesday) which we missed since I had an upcoming exam to study for. Nonetheless, we spent a heartwarming day together at Main St. Unionville and back at his house barbecuing and making a coconut cream pie. The pie turned out great.. surprisingly. I’m such an amateur when it comes to baking, but it was worth the effort and he liked it! The weather network is such a disappointment considering that it didn’t rain until the evening. Our picnic trip could have happened, but we will have to save the homemade cupcakes, sandwiches, and laying on the grass under the sun for next time. He rediscovered his sweetness when he gave me a long stem rose, card (even though it sent chills down my spine with the corny love music playing inside), and video . Can you tell that we have a deep attachment to dinosaurs and Edward Monkton? I can finally admit defeat for our stop motions battle. His is much cuter with all the dinosaurs. I hope he enjoyed the card that I gave him. I’m not all that sweet so the most I did was make him a card by mimicking Edward Monkton’s “A Lovely Love Story” book out of construction paper.
I hope you all enjoyed a lovely Father's day!

I’m thrilled for the arrival of summer now that I’ve completed my last exam for spring school. I hope it’s not too late to be making reservations for Summerlicious 2010 (oh wait, nevermind - forgot that reservations don't begin until June 24th!) I missed my opportunity last year and the previous years to pig out at multiple restaurants at a cheaper and affordable price.
Considering that I’m too young to have the money to splurge on designer clothing, I’m hoping to do a diy on the Miu Miu collar soon so I’m looking forward to picking up some iron transfer on sheets and collared shirts. Oh, and I’ve finally learned how atrocious a credit card can possibly be. I thought I was able to manage one, but having realized that I was only able to pay off half of it this month makes me want to grab a pair of scissors, cut it up, and throw it away.
On a happier note, the wait for my vintage purse is now over. It's the perfect size and I love the colour. In addition, I also purchased a new lens recently (Canon EF50mm f1.8 II) so I'm excited to take it out soon. It's a shame that the weather always end up interfering with my plans. Terrance and I were supposed to have a picnic over at Centre Island tomorrow afternoon to celebrate our one year anniversary, but now we've resorted to plan b, which is another day to delight ourselves in a home cooked meal and a coconut cream pie perhaps?

I picked up a beautiful bright coral nail polish to welcome summer's soon arrival. I could imagine myself prancing around in the sand in a floral sundress and a straw hat with this lovely colour painted on. I also love the texture of this new mac lipstick I purchased the other day. It's more moisturizing than the matte one that I own and the delicate nude-pink colour has got me falling head over heels.

The day turned out to be great, despite the horrid lie the weather network had told. Terrance celebrated his 21st birthday today at his place with a barbecue, friends, beer, and cupcakes. We had hoped to head down to Wasaga Beach to soak in some fresh summer air and dive into the clean, warm water but the weather network predicted showers and thunderstorm throughout the day. It would have been much more enjoyable to spend his birthday at the beach, but our end decision did save us all the driving time it would have taken. Oh, and I guess the little trip to the nearby park with two of my girlfriends pretty much made up for the sand part. I love sand (too bad I was wearing wedges today though so I held back from jumping in). I hope he liked his present, card and the cupcakes.
