Witnessed the first sign of Spring over the weekend with temperatures above zero degrees celsius and ample sunlight. The weather called for a light wool coat, a pair of perfectly cropped denim and slides. I welcomed in these new jeans from GRLFRND denim not too long ago and they have become my favourite. This 'Helena' style is a popular one and loved by many, but I didn't get to try it until very recently. The raw and uneven cut hem is unique, making them the ideal go-to pair for casual weekend runs or even dressier occasions.
It’s the beginning of a new month, which is an opportunity to start anew. I’ve been inconsistent with my blog posts recently, not because I don’t want to post but because there’s nothing too exciting to share. So this time around, I figured I would do something different and share five interesting facts about myself that you may not know
After a long self-debate on whether or not it was worth investing in a pantsuit, I finally did it. Not because it's super trendy at the moment, but because it doesn't hurt to own one. There is a sense of confidence that comes out when I'm wearing a suit. When it came down to picking one, the options were endless but I undoubtedly went with an option that was the most classic.
Happy 2018! There's something so special about this year and maybe it's because the number '8' is in it. If you're Chinese, you'll know that this number is considered lucky because it sounds like the word 'prosperity' and 'wealth'. Terrance and I purchased our home on the 18th floor (intentional) and I will be turning 28 at the end of the year. Oh, and I just so happen to be writing this post on the 18th (unintentional).
As with every holiday season, my go-to ensemble always includes a relaxed-fitting sweater. Not only for reasons of warmth, but also so I can eat more. This Massimo Dutti sweater has been a favourite of mine and the low-turtleneck and bell sleeves makes it unique.
When it comes to gifting, I truly believe that giving the gift of a new scent is the most thoughtful. It's your chance at picking up a fragrance that reflects your loved one and their personality, whether it be feminine, sweet, bold or fun.
We don't have much of a choice but to embrace the cold weather so we may as well see the fall weather as a glass half full. The best part about the fall season is shopping for the quinteseential pieces that you can wear and layer on when the temperature drops.
I've been on the search for the classic trench coat for quite some time now and finally stumbled upon the one from Massimo Dutti. My ideal trench coat is one that is a bit more heavy-duty as opposed to lightweight so that it can withstand Canadian weather, would be camel-toned, and have detailed shoulders and sleeves. This one checked all of the boxes.
Breakfast (or brunch) is my favourite meal on the weekends. I rarely have it on the weekdays, but it's the first thing I think about when I wake up on weekends. One of my go-to spots in the city is La Société. The French bistro is located in the heart of Yorkville where you can enjoy your favourite comfort foods in a beautiful cozy space.
There are two pieces that I will always carry from season to season with me—a lace top and a leather skirt. They are timeless and can both instantly elevate an outfit. While the lace brings out the femininity of the outfit, the leather adds a dose of edge. I’ve always been a huge fan of leather skirts, but have only owned faux leather skirts until now. A leather skirt is a real investment, but when you stumble upon one with the perfect silhouette and is buttery soft, you just have to say yes.
You may have learned by now that my wardrobe consists of only a few colours: black, white and pink. Since black and white are barely colours, I guess that means that my wardrobe only contain one colour which I sprinkle all over my home, closet and even Instagram feed. Now that the cooler season has arrived, I am happy to be renewing some of my old favourites, such as this oversized pink knit turtleneck and this wrap midi skirt.
There are a few reasons why I love Sundays... one, it's a weekend, two, it's usually a lazy, effortless day, and three, it's an excuse to brunch. Since moving downtown about two years ago, I have made it a habit to get out, socialize and brunch on Sundays. It doesn't happen every weekend because if it did, it would be nearly impossible to save (lattes and pancakes aren't cheap!).
